The third AFR100 annual partnership meeting will take place from August 26-28 in Nairobi, Kenya. It will bring together focal points of relevant ministries from AFR100 partner countries as well as financial and technical partners interested to support forest landscape in Africa. The first day will consist of a field trip to a surrounding areas of Nairobi and the following two days will consist of technical level meetings.
Key objectives of the meeting include: (1) Highlight landscapes where restoration is successfully being implemented and could be scaled up, (2) Showcase policies and incentives that have supported implementation of large-scale FLR, and (3) Identify funding sources and drive resource mobilization. This event should also be an opportunity for the announcement of new pledges to the AFR100 Initiative and positions taken by development partners, international finance institutions and mechanisms to support counties during the process of implementation of their commitments to AFR100.
It will complement and set the stage for further discussion at the Global Landscapes Forum, to be held in Nairobi on 29-30 August 2018. Please contact Diana Mawoko to learn more about the third AFR100 partnership meeting.
