The Mahlangatsha Donga Rehabilitation project is a land restoration initiative covering Ndzeleni and Bhahwini. It received a US$20,000 grant from the Eswatini Environment Fund in 2020. Led by World Vision Eswatini, the project involved partners like the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, MDMA, University of Eswatini, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs and Eswatini Environment Authority. The project benefitted 485 households across 4 chiefdoms (Ndzeleni, Nciniselweni, KaZulu, Bhahwini), as well as 3 schools (Nyatsini Primary, Nyatsini High, and Endzeleni Primary), by protecting the road at Ndzeleni, previously at risk from the donga. Key interventions included donga stabilization, stormwater management, planting over 2,000 trees, and fencing. As a result, 34Ha of Ndzeleni and 27Ha of Bhahwini were rehabilitated, totaling 61Ha of land restored.
