As part of the ongoing efforts to restore the nearly extinct species Erythrina schliebenii within Tanzania’s Ruvuma Landscape, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in collaboration with Medical Care Development International (MCDI) have expanded a tree nursery for raising Erythrina tree seedlings. The target is to raise and plant roughly 30,000 seedlings by the end of 2018. Currently over 10,000 seedlings, with a survival rate of over 50%, have been planted in Mchakama Village Land Forest Reserve (VLFR).
