Around 12,000 people from various institutions and sectors gathered on Jan 19 in Ankazobe, Madagascar for the launch of the country’s official reforestation campaign (2019-2020). This is in line with the Government's goal to make Madagascar a green country by reforesting 40,000 ha per year and planting 60 million seedlings.
To spread knowledge of tools that encourage good planning for reforestation, the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development, in collaboration with GIZ and USAID, organized a workshop in March. Participants learned about resources that can help them plan, write reference and orientation documents, and build a comprehensive vision and approach at the national and regional levels.
